Welcome to Idleways Riverside Cottage on the Norfolk Broads
Idleways is a self-catering holiday cottage, sleeping eight, situated on the bank of the River Thurne, Potter Heigham, in the heart of the Norfolk Broads National Park.
It is surrounded by open farmland front and back, with uninterrupted views up and down the River Thurne.
This is a prime fishing location, with excellent nature and bird watching opportunities. Up to forty species of bird have been spotted in the area, in particular marsh harriers, cranes and barn owls seen by day. Other wildlife, including a family of otters, share the banks with fishermen.
Broadland fishing is legendary. Three British record pike have been caught within a mile radius of Idleways, but bream, roach, rudd and perch are also of excellent size and can be caught in quantity.
We, the owners of Idleways, are a local family living in the nearby village of Martham and enjoy many happy days at the cottage fishing, sailing and messing about in boats. Unfortunately, not every day can be spent like that, so we are able to offer Idleways as a self-catering holiday let for many weeks of the year. We offer a friendly, personal service to our guests, and are on hand to help and advise where we can.
